Founded in 2019 in San Francisco by director, director of photography & editor Amir Jaffer and TV director & filmmaker Jörg Fockele, Eclectic is a media lab for impactful and inspiring video content. Eclectic’s team is rounded off by Beth Benson, our relationship manager - or, as we call her, our Fairy Godmother.
Our background is in documentary filmmaking. We believe in the power of human stories, faces and voices and we do our best work when we get to tell a story - even a brand or company’s story - through the people that represent that entity. We believe that the focus on the humans behind the company allows us to create truly moving pictures.
We develop your project all the way from inception to post production – or can just take on one aspect of the creative process. And if it requires special services, we have an array of high profile collaborators in the Bay Area, domestically and globally. We will bring them on board as needed to create the best possible product for you.
Amir and Jörg together have produced content for clients as diverse as PBS, YMCA of the East Bay, The National Hemophilia Foundation, LiveaMoment, WORLD, The National AIDS Memorial, Ciara West Equestrian, ALRP, PAWS, Academy of Friends, Project Open Hand, SF Suicide Prevention and The Custom Made Theatre Co. – just to name a few. If it can be filmed, we will create a unique video about it.

I have been making a living as a filmmaker for 13 years and while I love directing and producing, it is the cinematography and editing departments I feel most called to. I am an out and proud tech geek and I embrace that side of myself fully.
Originally from Pakistan, I have lived in the US since 1998 and use my multi-cultural ties to collaborate on endeavors all over the world.
Current projects include the 15 episode series Aarzu e Mann I produced and filmed for the South Asian market. The show is currently streaming on Amazon. I also recently finished the Spanish Flamenco documentary Open Circle, which is available on multiple VOD platforms including Amazon Prime.
My customers include PBS, Delta Dental, Custom Made Theatre, LiveaMoment, National AIDS Memorial, among others.
Beth Benson,
Fairy Godmother
I start things. I'm at the beginning of the story reaching out to new clients, responding to inquiries, learning from our customers about their opportunities and challenges. I tell their stories to our creative talent and we come up with great proposals and ideas for you. A few meetings, big vision sessions and shoot days later, and voilà—great, cinematic, beautiful videos are born!
I have decades of experience in San Francisco and Silicon Valley in the tech and creative sectors. My super power is the ability to bring the right energies together to make the kind of magic that allows for an increase in all the good stuff - good time, good spending of money, good promotion of product and most importantly good creative artifact that tells a magnificent story and builds audience and profitability for clients.

I am an award winning filmmaker, producer and TV director from Germany who has lived in the US for 20+ years. In the late 1990s I moved from Munich to New York City to pursue my dream of becoming a full time director and it’s in the Big Apple that I got my start in television. After 12 years on the East Coast, I moved to San Francisco in 2008 and have been splitting my time between directing and producing television, creating high impact music videos, branded content for companies & non-profits and working on my own films.
Apart from the original Queer Eye on Bravo, Wife Swap on ABC and Savage U on MTV, I have directed and produced shows for AMC, Sundance Channel, Planet Green, PBS, Nat Geo Wild and Animal Planet – to name a few. Of the distinctions and prizes I have received my most cherished ones are retrospectives at the Goethe Institutes New York City, San Francisco, Chicago and Mexico City, 2 Emmys and a special award from the Berlin International Film Festival. My most current project is the award winning feature documentary Sally!.
